This is a quick reference of the logic deduced from the articles:

Keep in mind that scholarship has proven that no cardinal doctrine is affected by any viable variant. Regardless of what text is used, Jesus is affirmed as God in the flesh, as rising from the dead bodily, as ascending to heaven and as coming again some day.

99.8% of textual variants affect nothing, most are spelling differences. there’s different ways to spell John, there’s different ways to spell Mary, they’re not going to affect anything, but the one-fifth of 1% that do affect things are the ones that scholars talk about. The bottom line is it does not matter in some respects which New Testament you use because no essential doctrine is jeopardized by any of these textual variants” — Dr. Daniel B. Wallace, Senior Research Professor of New Testament Studies (PhD, Dallas)

Too Long Didn’t Read (TL;DR)

This section is for those of you short on time. With love, here are the worlds most accurate bible versions. Keep in mind that both literalness and readability are not the same thing as accuracy. The first-place winners fulfill all categories. Each of these are both literally and functionally accurate.

Keep in mind that the NET Bible: Full Translators’ Notes Edition is unique in that it is decidedly more formal and literal than any one Bible version on earth in it’s notes, but dynamic and functional in it’s text with the highest accuracy I’ve seen.

The extensive and reliable notes in the NET Bible were a wonderful help to our translation team as we worked to prepare the English Standard Version.” — Dr. Wayne Grudem, Harvard & Cambridge educated Research Professor and member of the Translation Oversight Committee of the ESV

This is the worlds best optimal equivalent Bible, and best for textual critics and translators. The ESV Study Bible is the product of this and the Bible I recommend the most for those who want to study the Bible itself. Both are masterpieces.

Sons of God, Worship, & Singular God

My test case for this is Deuteronomy 32:8 and Deuteronomy 32:43. The former should read “sons of God” (ESV; cp. “gods” in NRSV), or something like “heavenly beings” (NET Bible) or “heavenly court” (NLT) instead of “sons of Israel.” Verse 43 should read “bow down to Him, all you gods” (ESV, NRSV) or something akin to it like NLT’s “let all God’s angels worship him.” — Dr. Michael S. Heiser
